Aggressive project schedules, low bid procurement procedures, and ever-higher client expectations are the driving forces that require effective communication between all professional consultants and building trades. Many times the communication is more adversarial than informative. The building industry is very cost driven. Contractors must not only be locally competitive, but also nationally and internationally competitive.

But, this does not mean that low bid procurement is necessarily the best choice of delivering a project. The design – build method of construction is a team approach where communication is emphasized to bring a project in on budget, on schedule, and as designed to meet the owner’s needs at occupancy. By eliminating the adversarial aspect of the relationship everyone benefits.

The heating, ventilation, and air – conditioning system is no longer just the box producing hot or cold air. It involves indoor environmental control for the modern office environment, computer rooms that closely control conditions for clean room performance of network systems and manufacturing, and providing more individualized comfort in multiple areas of a building. The HVAC system is the major dynamic system within each building and it represents a rapidly evolving technology. New types of equipment, new applications, automated control systems, adaptability, and both first and life cycle costs of the building. The complexity, proprietary nature and rapid evolution of HVAC systems require design engineers to communicated design intent more effectively and consistently.

Environmental Systems Corporation’s team approach brings all of the elements needed for a total building system that is tailored for the customer, the best designs, the best mechanical construction, and the best automation capabilities.
