Concerned about Indoor Air
Quality?
A report from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) estimates 50% of our public schools and buildings
have poor indoor air quality. Studies of indoor air indicate
that indoor levels of pollutants often exceed 2-5 times
the levels found outdoors. Occasionally, indoor pollutants
have exceeded outdoor pollutants by a factor of 100.
Comparative risk studies performed by the EPA
and its Science Advisory
Board consistently ranks indoor air pollution among the
top five environmental health risks to the public.
